Caregivers for Seniors in Fountain Valley - Celebrate the 4th by Giving the Gift of Freedom!

From all of us here at A-1 Home Care, we would like to wish each and every one of you a wonderful Independence Day! Today is not only a day to spend time with family out under the sun, it is a day to remember how our nation's founding fathers fought for our independence as a sovereign nation. There is nothing more American than the concept of freedom and independence for all...and in the spirit of that, we would like to offer families in Fountain Valley the chance to give their elderly parents the independence that they deserve.

What does it mean for an elderly senior to live independently? It means that he or she can live in the comfort of their own home, and abide by whatever schedule they have for themselves. It means not having to burden other family members by heavily relying on their attendance and care. By having an in home or live in caregiver, seniors can be able to do all of this and be assured that their health and security is in good hands.

With our 24 Hour and Overnight Caregivers on the job, there is no need to worry about your loved ones in their home. Trained with 2 years or more of care giving experience, our senior home health aides are adept at administering non medical in home senior care, along with several other facets of senior care, including Alzheimer's & Dementia Care, Incontinence Care, and Companion Care.

Recognizing the signs of a heart attack/ Fountain Valley In Home Care

What are the signs of a heart attack?
The first sign is shortness of breath, which is the most dangerous and tell-tale sign of all. If you are experiencing shortness of breath, A-1 Home Care suggests you go to the emergency room immediately, just to be cautious.
The second sign of a possible heart attack is nausea, which results from a signal sent from the heart to the intestines indicating an abnormality.
Finally, the third and perhaps trickiest sign is physical pain during activity. If, for example, when a senior starts to feel pain as walking but then it goes away while you are stationary, this could be a sign of a heart attack. The tricky thing to keep in mind is that the pain won't always be in the chest. The human body sometimes experiences what is called "referred pain," meaning that your stomach, left arm or even chin could be in pain even if the source of pain is your heart. This is because the heart only has nerve fibers, but no pain receptors, forcing other parts of the body to respond instead.

Post surgery recovery foods with Fountain Valley caregivers

Did you know that protien is possibly the single most effective food to take after a surgery? Protein contains amino acids which directly impact the body's ability to gain energy and heal itself in the aftermath of an invasive surgery. Elders experiencing slowness in recovery can ask our caregivers to provide delicious high protein meals for their health and wellbeing.

On average, a person can expect to lose 5 to 10 percent of total body weight after surgery. To infuse the body with calories and nutrition, consider protein first. Protein is needed to repair tissue, slow muscle loss and decrease the inflammatory phase. Post-operative protein requirements range from 1.5 to 2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight.Check out this lovely high protein recipe we at A-1 Home Care love!
